Read, read, read! Read it all!!!!! I love you!

Hi everyone,

We reviewed prepositions again and some of the sentences from your homework last week.

Remember this capitalization rule:   Ann Forman, governor   (or)  Governor Ann Forman
Capitalize a title if it immediately precedes the name, but doesn’t have a comma separating it.

We also began writing a paragraph with descriptive words.  We took a simple sentence, “She/He is nice” and began developing descriptive words to explain why someone is nice.  Check out the writing sample I sent home, “My baby sister is the picture of health.”

We started your homework - do the best you can since we didn’t get to cover everything deeply.

From Mitzi:

Hi everyone, I’m enjoying your writing in our class. All of you really focused during that journaling exercise. Sean wrote over 160 words in those 7 minutes, but I think I’m going to have to ask questions about the video game he is playing. All of you wrote over 50 words which allows me to get to know you better. By the way, you ALL passed the Preposition Test. I thought you would. I helped students on about 3 of the sentences, but overall, they all completed the test themselves. We corrected another paragraph together today. I rushed through part of your homework assignment at the end of class. If you need additional help, please call me. Next week, we’ll go back to our Winston Grammar cards and maybe Bingo again just for review. Hi guys,

I gave you pages 2 and 3 of Capitalization and Punctuation which should also be completed.  I apologize for not listing it on my homework email, but I hope you know they should be completed regardless.

If you have trouble recognizing nouns and verbs, try this website for practice:

I forgot to send your Preposition Test home with you, but I think I mentioned in class that I wanted to have you take it this Thursday anyway.  Review your list of prepositions and make sure you know how to find nouns and verbs.

Here’s a practice test for all of you.

Thanks guys,

Mitzi
